Enable DCD or CD Sharing on the Mac with the media drive On your MacBook Air, open a Finder window and look for the Remote Disc entry under the Devices heading. Select it and you’ll see any Macs on your local network that have a media drive. Into the Mac with the media drive, insert a data CD or DVD. On your MacBook Air, within the Remote Disc window, double-click on the name of the Mac that has the media drive. You’ll see an icon for the disc. Double-click on that icon and you should be able to see the contents of the disc.

Mac to Stereo: You need a 1/8″ stereo jack adapter or cable that from the port on the back of your computer to a dual-phono RCA connection. It looks like a headphone connection that converts to the connection for audio ports that most receivers have (RCA connectors are usually red and white or black and white). Turn off your computer and plug in the connection that looks like a headphone connector.

For about 50 uses (mostly importing music CDs into my iTunes library), it worked flawlessly, and I thought those reviews were incorrect. Stereo to Mac: To connect your computer so you can record audio from your stereo onto your Mac, you can use the same cable listed above – unless your Mac has RCA connections on the back (like the,,,,,,,,, and some ). If you have a Mac with RCA audio connections on the back, you can use a straight RCA to RCA cable.
