I was at the store researching and thus contemplating buying a Surface tablet. I did and therefore brought it home with me. However, upon taking out the stylus, (See attached image) OneNote pops up and essentially demands that I sign-in with a so-called 'personal account' of theirs and thus, not providing me with an option to sign in and use the surface's local storage which in turn will eventually sync with our internal cloud?? I executed the following to uninstall OneNote: 'get-appxpackage *microsoft.office.onenote* remove-appxpackage' However, this didn't appear to help. Before I return this extremely intrusive you-know-what, has anyone confronted this issue and found a workaround to avoid signing in with their 'personal account', avoid uploading confidential work information to their cloud, and ultimately allow me to maintain work-related information internally?

Is there a local cache somewhere that I can delete? Love too, the ability to search across all your notes (including audio files!) for keywords. You can also limit your search to smaller sub parts. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is the lack of provision to sort your papers within a section by date.
Likewise, I can add an Excel document to a OneNote Mac Notebook by dragging it from the Finder, but once it’s part of OneNote it’s not editable. Furthermore, if I update that document outside of OneNote my changes aren’t reflected in the document I dragged to OneNote. There have been improvements to linked web pages, although they also remain imperfect. You can add a web page to OneNote using the OneNote Clipper, which gives you the option of adding a whole web page or an individual article to OneNote. Clipped articles retain links and images while web pages appear as images in OneNote. (As an aside, OneNote is does a great job of extracting text from images you add to a Notebook.) But there was no way to add video from a web page to a OneNote document. The only option was to add a link to a page with video in it and view that video in your browser.

KingKongRumbles Needs improvements The first week of opening this on your Macbook or Apple device (if you previously owned this on PC, or even a different older Apple device) may cause sync errors and crashes when starting to move larger files above 30MB. It will also save time after the calibration, but for older generations (prior to 1980) or the executive white male types with little patience, it will make your employees and/or yourself miserable during that time to put to use at work. For newer millenial generations inundated with files, this will work well. Specifically, if you are operating with 20+ or more files either in work or school for commonly complex procedures (such as billing for Medicare with 20 different types of products and/or 500 codes with unique details for each to deal with) or a master program with 2 years of notes to keep organized for reference, this is a great tool to use to click between the files and actually read them again quickly (the alternative is all in MS Word documents that need at least 10 seconds to load between each one). If you have a set of files such as myself at 300 files, you will benefit from this ultra-organization tool. The improvements needed include more reliable syncing, and making load times be as fast as possible per each opening of the app on MacBook or Apple device (iPad and iPhone).
