Thanks, I really enjoy PCSX. Click to expand.Hey man, I am brand new to this forum and have basically admitted defeat (on my own) in my quest to find, SOMEWHERE, how to turn Frame Skip, Fast Forward, Speed up, Turbo, what ever you call it, on. I am using PCSX version 1.5 test 3 (1.5.0 test 3) and I have a MacBook Pro that is running Mac OS X version 10.6.6 with a 2.4 GHz intel Core 2 Duo and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. Right now, I am playing Final Fantasy 7, and am watching HC Bailey's 'Lets Play' Youtube series along as I play. I am not new to emulators, I am, however, new to playstation ones. I looked everywhere and I think it may have to do with the fact that I may not have the right plugin, but I'm not sure, any help at this point would be really appreciated and if it helps, my eMail is: joeM. PCSX Reloaded w/ Wine.?
If you're trying a disc versus a.iso that's why. The PCSX2 Mac version is very limited versus the PC. So I suggest if you have bootcamp to install the pc version. I've had no trouble downloading the old version of pcsx (2005) as seen in that youtube help video, but i've heard of running reloaded through wine for better graphics. I followed to a tee the step by step on 'Speed of Mac' for installing the windows version through wine on mac osx yet still can't get things to work. I hear i need to be savvy with terminal?? If so, is there a way to improve graphics plug-ins with simply the mac version? If so, where is it and can someone hold my hand through the process? I've only been successful with the old version of pcsx, i can't seem to successfully download and run pcsx reloaded.

I don't think there are drivers for pc that recognize pressure sensitive controls anyways, crouching and basic maneuvering are impossible on PC. Okay so I got socom 2 working with the emu, and I installed motion joy and hooked up my dualshock 3 i did not mess w/any bindings in in motion joy. I just loaded the lillypad bindings in the ps2 emu. Hope I helped at all. I'm running on a new Macbook Pro(15 inch, 1gig vid card) and it works great but like with any game it makes the Mac HOT. Like really hot. And the only downside is it doesn't have that many options for plugins, what you download with it is what you get. And some games(aka.hack//Gu vol 1.> ) don't work on it. But I've got RE:COM and KH2FM+ running perfectly at 60fps with those settings and if you press 'Tab' it speeds the emulator up twice as much so sometimes I'll get 120-150fps. It's pretty awesome, but I suggest that you keep your Mac plugged in while playing because it will use up your battery.

Maybe the graphics 'card' wasn't up to the task? I'm not sure if that's the weak link, or the CPU was, but I would have thought that the i5-2557 would be fast enough for this without an issue.

--------------------------------------------------------------- 1. General hardware: --------------------------------------------------------------- - Keep in mind that even if your PC is new and/or it runs Crysis 2 fine, it doesn't mean it will run all emulated PS2 games at full speed. - PCSX2 usually uses 2 threads (cores) at most*. That means that if you have a 4-cores CPU, the maximum CPU utilization you'll see is 50%, and usually a bit less. If you have a single-core CPU, most games will run slow. * Newer nightly builds can utilize 3 cores when using the new MTVU speed hack. - Laptops: Make sure power settings are set to 'High performance'.
I'm not sure if that's the weak link, or the CPU was, but I would have thought that the i5-2557 would be fast enough for this without an issue. The new option (Blending Unit Accuracy), which is an OpenGL renderer exclusive, moves the computing of the ROP to the shader. This way it is more accurate but considerably slower. Note: this tutorial is for Snow Leopard. YES IT DOES WORK FOR LION First download the app from pcsx2mac.net: Then download NVidia CG Framework: You will have to make an account if you don't have one already, it's free regardless. Install both packages and then start PCSX2 NOTE: You will need to download Bios for the emulator which you find easily with the help of Google.
In order to make a BIOS file, you will need a PlayStation 2, a flash drive, and a means to transfer the file from your computer to the console (from step 4 in the 'BIOS files are missing when completing setup?' I try to make an image out of them with toast and then burn them as data at iso 9660, but it tells me that it can't burn cd audio files to a dvd or something. Which it shouldn't be telling me at all. THIRD: Now you are going to use the files provided to make your PCSx2 function properly. • I wasn't able to provide you with bios files as they violate the rules on piracy, so please make sure to get your own bios files. Once you have bios files, place them in the empty folder called 'bios'. • Unzip the file provided, and copy or move the folder 'pcsx2-v1.5.0-dev-512-g7f3f6e9-windows-x86' to the location of your 'drive_c/Program Files' folder.

• Next you will need to run the Network Access Disc, or some means of making your network config, some games might work, but some will just show garbage, so this is the best option. All network adapters and slim PS2's come with one. DHCP doesn't work, so hard code your IP addresses. You can either run this on your PS2 and transfer over your NETCONF files to a memcard, or run it on PCSX2 directly. • Run your ISO and have fun playing online NOTE: Step 2 and 3 can be done with PCSX2 itself ( 0.9.7 or higher ) You run the ISO 'Disc ID Util CD DVD Version' and then switch to your game's ISO (the game that you want its ID) using swap disc and press X. This will give you all 3 IDs.
