Quicken For Windows 2017 Looks Bigger On The Mac Primary Monitor
One issue has been making me crazy: the drop down menus don't work right. But I have found a workaround I'd like to share: Doing an ALT-T will make the Tools menu drop down as normal, and once the Tools menu is displayed, then the other menus can be made to appear by sliding the mouse pointer left and right across the menu bar. No other ALT-command will work, nor will any menu drop down by simply clicking on it as it should. So it IS possible to access all the bdropdown menu items, if in a rather roundabout way. I'm sure that this is a clue to solving this problem at it's root, but I have not the skills to attempt that.
I dont know what possesed me to change the settings so I enabled [extend my windows desktop onto this monitor] after enabling this my monitor blackd out for 5 6 seconds and when the screen came back I cant see taskbar or any icons and even right click menu items were not working but when I plugged another display device I was able to view with the normal settings.[i searched this trick using a spare monitor] my laptop is dell latitude d600 soo I followed this trick I pressed the windows button [next to alt] then pressed C Once you get Control Panel open you're ready to start moving the window. Here's the procedure: 1. Press Alt+Spacebar to open the control menu in the window's upper-left corner. Press the M key (for Move).
When running Quicken Premier 2017 (for Windows) on a secondary monitor with a higher resolution than what the main/primary monitor is capable of running at, Quicken cannot display correctly whenever we want to make the application window's size larger than the primary/main monitor's resolution. My main monitor's maximum resolution is 1280x1024 while my two secondary monitors each run at 1920x1200.
Josh Miller/CNET. Computer displays: You can certainly drive a TV from your computer, but TVs are meant to be viewed from a distance, while computer displays are designed for closer work. As TVs get smarter and higher-resolution, though, the gap between the two is narrowing. Plus, for gamers, having a primary computer display for working and a TV hooked up for gaming may make sense. Want to do that?. Warranty and support: I admit, I'm a bit of a fatalist when it comes to support.
I used to purchase every update, but then because of very bad reviews on 2016 version, I stayed with my 2015 until now. Then I read that Quicken was sold to a different company, so I was excited and expected to see a big improvement under the new management. Here is my thoughts on the 2017 version: The only change that you can see after installation is just a minor change in the design which they made the icons and bars flat to mimic new flat design that we see everywhere. Other than that, I can't see any serious change. As far as performance and speed, 2015 was the slowest software that I have seen.
My nightmare began. First, I just want to enter my transactions as I did before - no bank tie in. I can not get a balance to come up. I can not get the same company name to work for either spending and income. It can not differentiate between the two. So if I started at income for a company, it refuses to be spending. It changes balances.
It is still as buggy as ever and I can never get the bank updates to work consistently over the years. I primarily use it to balance my checkbooks, but now with the yearly subscription it is definitely not worth it. My personal opinion, 'See you Quicken', don't need it anymore. I just downloaded Personal Capital and it is a great tool. It won't balance your checkbook, but what information! Original review: Oct. 25, 2018 I have used Quicken for many years and loved it.
If not, you can always undo it again. To create working external manifest file for any program, you need to first extract its own manifest and then modify the dpiAware value to false. To extract manifest you can use Resource Hacker program: Just run it then drag and drop the needed executable onto it. In the list of resources locate “24” expand it all the way until you see xml text in the preview window. Copy the whole text.
Ive been told to hit so many F keys!!! Heres my problem, think its the same as no experts? I have a Nvidia 8800 gts, I changed the dual monitor option to (either) be default monitor on Both, and, or extend both displays to be my desktop? Both of my outputs on my Graphics card are BLACK! Pes 2011 download free full version for mac. No screen at all. I get the start up and can gointo the Bios, but no where can I find start in safe mode?
Zooming will make everything on the screen larger and will hopefully make everything less small for you. The setting is in the control panel and display/resolution settings. Also, check out this answer from the Apple support forum that gives a more step by step instruction: • Right click on the desk and choose 'Display settings' • Click on the 'Advanced display settings' link • Click on the 'Advanced sizing of text and other items' link • Click on the 'set a custom scaling level' link in the 'Change size of items' paragraph • Change to option in the drop down to 100% • Log out and log back in. In response to Dempa's currently highest rated solution, I would like to add that 200% @ 2880x1800 looks perfect on my 15 inch Macbook Pro Retina, as far as desktop icons, sizes and crispness goes. It looks nice. Some apps/programmes though (Audodesk Inventor in my case), are still fuzzy around the icons (not untilising high res).
You may cancel before renewal date. For full details, consult the Quicken Membership Agreement. You can manage your subscription at your My Account page. • Quicken 2019 for Windows imports data from Quicken for Windows 2010 or newer, Microsoft Money 2008 and 2009 (for Deluxe and higher).
However, I don't see a viable tablet-based (or cloud-based) alternative to Quicken (curse you Microsoft for dropping Money) coming along any time soon. Quicken, unless you're using it for business, is old news. If you're using it to manage your finances, Mint is far better. I don't have to enter any transactions because it links up with my bank to enter them automatically. Then I just classify the spending with categories.
As soon as I hooked up my NEC monitor and closed the lid it went back to the black screen. The system remembers settings per a particular monitor! When the lid was open I could see both desktops but my goal was to get back to working with the lid closed and avoid the distraction of a constantly blinking light from under the lid while browsing. So, before setting up the second monitor, perform the following procedure and write down (on paper) what keys you had to press to get to the Control Panel/Display Resolution 1. Open the Start menu by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard (the key has a picture of the Windows logo). If your keyboard does not have this key, press Ctrl+Esc.
Updated September 16, 2018 When you, you get a transaction register where you can automatically or manually enter actions that affect the balance in your account, such as purchases and payments. You have the option of changing your account register preferences in to better meet your needs. For instance, you may want to automatically place the decimal point in a certain spot, fade out reconciled transactions, show dates before check numbers, or even change the fonts and colors used. Some of the options available for customizing your account preferences in Quicken for Windows 2016, 2017, and 2018 appear below. In order to make any of these changes, choose the Edit menu in Quicken.
You just hope the areas that you use work reasonably well. For features and functions that don't work, you figure out workarounds and by R9 or so the product is stabilized. The R3 version (current as of late November 2016) is somewhat unstable. It has locked up a number of times on a fully patched Windows 10 professional machine with high end hardware. Even though I've never lost any data, it's just pathetic that it's so easy to stumble upon ways to lock up the software. But I guess Quicken doesn't need to worry too much about quality when it doesn't have any real competitors on the high end and has successfully locked in a user community.

If you can find a 3rd party software that is MS approved, there are ones out there that will put a taskbar and start button on both monitors. I play DDO and EQ2 and play fullscreen borderless and have all of my browsers in the second monitor when I play the games and just drag them back when Im not playing. But then, my monitors are set where the main is directly in front of me and the secondary is at a 30 degree angle to the right. (small desk) I use one of those 3rd party softwares that has both f2u and p2u (free to use and pay to use) versions and on the free version, it allows a different background for each monitor, taksbar and start button on each, a window add on that allows you to pass the window from one side to the other like aero snap.
Although this has been a constant complaint for those of us with active investment transaction portfolios Quicken has never fixed this issue. However, this year they apparently decided to make this issue worse as now it is slower than ever putting these transactions into my investment register. I know you've read 'if I could give it 0 stars I would' many times before.
I think the connectivity issues and the decades-worth of bloat the software has accumulated are a deal-breaker for me. Here is our experience: We went through the 7 hours long painful process of linking all our accounts to the software (banking, credit cards, investments, etc) but Quicken Deluxe 2018 cannot connect with any banks or firms reliably (we use several national banks). It brings in duplicate transactions or no transactions and the balances are never right.
In order to fix the problem, it requires editing the registry. Making a mistake when editing the registry could lead to your system not working. So if you aren’t comfortable doing it, don’t do it!
