Is this a setting that I need to change within Microsoft Word specifically, and not something that I can do for any other documents? If so, where is this setting found in MS Word, and how do I enable it? I think I've been to MS Word screens before about this as instructed by my printer company and didn't have any luck, but I'm not sure. No one is disputing that your printer is capable of duplexing.

Are you sure there is not black and white print option? I would go onto the Epson website and download the latest print drivers to suit your device on a Mac. The disk that came with the printer may not be the latest available driver.

I am printing from SAPgui, on Mac OS X, to the default printer for my Macintosh, using the%FE1 print queue. SAPgui is not recognizing the options that I have set in my Mac OS printer configuration for printer tray and/or duplex printing. I have two printers that feature automatic duplex. However, I am unable to determine how to enable it for either one of them. The printers are Brother HL-5250DN, and the HP 6980 series. They are both connected to my computer via USB although, eventually, I hope to be able to put them on the Apple Time Capsule I just purchased to have them be on the network in my apartment.

Hi, I'm new to Open Office (and to Macs) and I really like it, except that I've hit an apparent show-stopper: I can't find any way to print documents double sided. I have a Brother HL-5250DN printer, which supports duplex printing and works just fine in Word. I tried installing the latest printer driver from Brother (v2.21) - though honestly I don't know if the system is currently using it. (I followed the whole printer driver installation process through, including the reboot, but it says under System Preferences/Printers that it's still using Printer Driver v1.41. I looked around but couldn't see any way to change to or verify use of the new driver.) I've searched all available help and forums, but have reached a dead-end. I am using Open Office 3.1 on a Mac with OS 10.6.

One of the functions I used often when connected to a PC was the double sided printing function. After installing the latest Mac drivers from Canon's American homepage I get a lot of printing options on my mac, but under layout the double sided printing option is marked gray and I'm unable choose this option. You can go to Print & Scan in the system preferences and select Options & Supplies for your printer. In there, you should see an option for Duplex Unit (if your printer supports it). If that is checked, you can use the automatic double-side printing (by checking the Two-sided box next to Copies).
